Sunday Supper

You might remember that over summer Eat Here Now and Golden Dawn held a series of Sunday lunches in their very fine courtyard. They were so much fun that we got to talking about doing a winter series. So we’re very excited to announce that the first will be held on Sunday July 28.

This time, it’s supper, starting at 5pm, and it’s inside. They’re loosely regional in theme, so the first supper celebrates Auckland and north, featuring our friends at Mahurangi Oysters, as well as Il Casaro mozzarella and cured meat suppliers Salash. But the same principle applies – these are shared feasts, generous and hearty from chef Becks Pilley and it’s our hope they’ll ease you through the rest of winter. Tickets are $58.50 and can be purchased here.

Freshly shucked Mahurangi Oysters w/ shallot sherry vinegar or chipotle tabasco

Il Casiro Burrata mozzarella w/ fresh chilli, olive oil & flaky sea salt

Warm spelt loaves w/ tarragon garlic butter

Salash air dried pork w/ brussel sprout, apple & walnut slaw

Root vegetable & provolone gratin

Wild mushrooms, puy lentils, sage & hazelnuts

Whole Freedom Farm free range pig w/ braeburn & calvados sauce & green herb oil

Whiskey bread & butter pudding w/ vanilla cream

    My fave winter dish is my mum’s chicken and mushroom pie. Served with roasties and mashed carrot & swede, it’s simply awesome! She makes it all herself – pastry, everything. YUM!

    my favourite winter dish is bread and butter pudding, it is warm, cosy and indulgent and makes you feel good all over when its cold and rainy outside :-)
